Mt. Washington Elementary School
The Mount Washington community is very proud of its highly rated elementary school at the top of the hill.
The Southwest Museum, located in Mt. Washington, is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of the history and culture of the American Indian. Presently undergoing major renovations, the museum has new plans for the future.
Self-Realization Fellowship
Self-Realization Fellowship, with its international headquarters in Mt. Washington since 1925, has been dedicated to carrying on the spiritual and humanitarian work of Paramahansa Yogananda. Its beautiful gardens are open to visitors Tues-Sat 9-5, Sun 1-5.
Arroyo Arts Collective
The Arroyo Arts Collective is a grassroots, community-based organization of artists, poets, musicians, craftspersons and supporters of the creative community in Northeast Los Angeles.
Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council
The Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council represents, as one of the only coalition councils in the City of Los Angeles, the communities of Hermon, Montecito Heights, Monterey Hills, Mt. Washington & Sycamore Grove.
Heritage Square Museum
A living history museum reflecting the settlement and development of Southern California from the Civil War to the early 20th Century, Heritage Square Museum offers visitors a look into the everyday lives of Southern Californians at the close of the 19th Century. Located just across the freeway from Mt. Washington, open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and most holiday Mondays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
As the second Coptic Orthodox Church in California, Holy Virgin Mary Church was established in 1974 in the Highland Park Community of the City of Los Angeles.
